Social Issue Print

Untitled

My social issue is missing children. This print is of the mother of a missing child. She is beyond the original feelings of fear and anguish, and has reached a state of numbness. She is “stuck,” and cannot move on from this traumatic event. She is now beyond feeling altogether. She does not know what will come next, nor does she particularly want to face it. This is one of two common results of a person in her situation.

I really liked the way Picasso used aqua tint and he inspired me to test it out for myself. I did not do mine the same way as he did, but he encouraged me to experiment.

Social art is a form that really helps to not only make yourself aware and dedicated to a cause while making it, but to also help to share your feelings and beliefs with others. I’ve found that I like I like it much more than I originally though, but it also is very difficult to do.
